ALBUM
In 2005 two extremely talented artists PLOT-G and MAGNIF decided that through the collaboration of their music they would have a larger influence on the flourishing Yokohama underground Hip-Hop / Rap scene thus creating 3RD INFANTRI. They quickly recruited two other aspiring and equally talented artists BIG JAY and MR. ANDERSON to complete the group: PLOT-G (CHRISTOPHER HUGHES) a Stockton, Texas native, MAGNIF (ROBERT KANNE) from the Crown Heights, New York, by way of Ghana West Africa, BIG JAY (JUSTIN GRANT) a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and MR. ANDERSON (SAMUEL ANDERSON) of Miami, Florida. These four artists coming from every corner of the U.S. each brings to the group their finely honed lyrical and musical skills and original flare.
3RD INFANTRI recorded their first collection of 18 songs with Yokosuka's COBRA LAW RECORDS executive RICHARD MASON which where released in the summer 2006. BIG JAY, well-known for his popularity and swagger, found an opportunity when he got word that an independent record label named MONIQUE RECORDS was looking for raw talent. They then soon met with MONIQUE RECORDS executives AJ SAITO and JIMMY "JTOHVAN" PASCHAL and negotiated a 12 track deal. While recording the "STREET LIFE" project 3RD INFANTRI began doing shows at local night clubs performing in front of large crowds on numerous occasions. Performances hosted by promoters such as SBE, UNCUT FLAVA, APHRODITE, C2C, and the all-mighty POSITIVE PRODUCTIONS include the DAMON DASH party in Tokyo, the 112 after party at Club Warehouse located in Tokyo, and performing as an opening act for T.I. at Yokohama Bay Hall and the Ebisu Liquid Room in Tokyo. |
